Valmet’s new multi-space office in Tikkurila offers employees flexible and comfortable facilities, where INTO Concept’s adaptable furniture supports diverse working needs and creates a functional work environment.

Modern and Collaborative Working Environment

Valmet is a global technology leader providing process technologies, automation solutions, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy industries. With a long history as an industry innovator, Valmet holds a strong position in international markets.

When several of Valmet’s offices were relocated into a single activity-based office in Tikkurila, the aim was to create a modern, efficient and collaborative working environment. The new space accommodates approximately 850 employees across 13,500 m². The interior architecture and furnishings were designed by Gullstén-Inkinen Oy, whose design process emphasized the transfer of tacit knowledge and the optimization of space in response to the rise of remote work. To support these objectives, furniture from INTO Concept was chosen, including POD ROLL meeting pods, TOP LIFT tables and POINT sofas.

Versatile and Comfortable Spaces

Furniture from the INTO the Nordic Silence product family found its place in the staff restaurant, floor cafés, meeting rooms, and waiting areas. The design of the new staff restaurant emphasized versatility: outside of lunchtime, the space was intended to serve as a flexible environment for teamwork. To achieve this, INTO’s POD ROLL meeting pods and POINT sofas were placed in the restaurant, customized to match Valmet’s brand identity.

Valmet’s new activity-based office furnished with INTO Concept workplace solutions.

Each floor café was given a distinct theme and equipped with INTO’s TOP LIFT tables and POINT sofas. These spaces were created to encourage movement between floors and to spark encounters among colleagues from different teams, fostering a stronger sense of community and collaboration.

The Result

Valmet’s new activity-based office provides an inspiring and efficient work environment that adapts to a variety of needs. The spaces support everything from focused individual work and quiet knowledge-sharing to collaborative teamwork and informal meetings. INTO Concept’s flexible, tailor-made furniture solutions were key in creating a workplace that combines functionality, comfort and company brand identity.

User experiences confirm that the spaces and furniture serve their purpose well:

“The sofas have a firm seat, which makes them comfortable to sit on. They work perfectly as wall-side solutions and fit in seamlessly with the rest of the interior.”

“The POD ROLL meeting pods provide a pleasant sense of privacy in the middle of the staff restaurant. They offer visual shelter and effectively reduce the noise coming from the serving line. I’ve noticed myself choosing to sit in them often.”
